County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 11:37 a.m. Cody Austin Batchelor, 23, Bainbridge, was taken into custody for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated.

• At 9:40 a.m. Charles Wesley Richard Powell, 30, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a court order.

• At 9:30 a.m. Terrence Michael Troxell, 32, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 8:48 p.m. Tuesday, Joshua Scott Beaman, 34, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee.

Beaman, who was lodged at the Putnam County Jail for battery and intimidation, was taken into custody as he walked along North Arlington Street near Franklin Street.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage accident.

• At 7:15 p.m. on Monday, William N. Riggle, 40, Ladoga, was westbound on State Road 236 in a 2012 Chrysler 200 when he hit a deer.

Deputy Daniel Birt estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

Correction

The date of the December First Friday celebration that includes Santa’s visit to the Putnam County Courthouse was incorrectly listed in a photo caption in Wednesday’s edition. The correction date for the program is Friday, Dec. 7.
