Dennis Earl Gentry

Dennis Earl Gentry, Roachdale, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.

He was born May 19, 1942 Indianapolis to the late Earl and Ruth Keck Gentry.

On Oct. 24, 1959, he married his best friend, Virginia Lee Windmiller, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville.

Dennis spent 28 years in the HVAC Power Plant at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. Upon his retirement in 1993, he started Gentry's HVAC in Roachdale. He had been active in the community and served on the Roachdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Dennis was member of the Roachdale Optimist Club and Roachdale Masonic Lodge 602.

He is survived by his children, Tom Gentry, Robin Gentry McHugh and Denise Gentry (Fred Blaydes); son-in-law Tod Powers; grandchildren Ashley Bullerdick Cochran (Jeff), Nicholas Gentry, Raushell Gentry, Cale Powers (Tracy Enlow) and Kacie Powers (Caleb Schenck); great-grandchildren Brayden Bullerdick and Madalynn Gentry; brother-in-law/sister-in-law, Larry and Vicki Windmiller; siblings Elaine Tuths (Joseph), Marilue Collier, Evelyn Ritter (John), Martha Ann Roush, Jennifer Mangold (John), Cathy Bias and Robert Gentry (Rosalyn), many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Cocoa.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Stacy Lee Gentry Powers; siblings, Gerald Thomas Gentry and Emily Gentry Hedge.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Alan Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at the Roachdale Cemetery.
