Giving Tree effort in full swing at Kroger, Goody’s

The Putnam County Giving Tree is in full swing with trees at Kroger and Goody’s filled with tags where you can pick up a tag or tags to sponsor a child.

Once you have purchased the item(s) on the tag, you attach the tag to it and bring it back to the store it was picked up from.

Distribution is Dec 14 for the families, so all gifts have to be purchased and returned by Dec. 9.

If you are unable to stop by and do the shopping, you can make contributions to Putnam County Giving Tree, P.O. Box 413, Greencastle, IN 46135.

It is also asked that any church, club or organization that is helping families outside of the Putnam County Giving Tree program to contact 301-6170 or 720-1739 and verify that the Giving Tree is not already helping that particular family. It has all families in a database and it only takes a few minutes to check to see if families are already being assisted.

The Giving Tree has not turned away any families and has continued to help families after the deadline of sign-up.
