WorkOne Western Indiana has set its orientation session for workers dislocated by the recent closure of Dixie Chopper in Fillmore.

The Thursday, Dec. 20 will introduce former Dixie Chopper employees to the variety of programs and services offered at no cost by WorkOne and its parent agency, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

During the session, which is set for 9-10:30 a.m. at Area 30 Career Center, 1 N. Calbert Way, Greencastle, the workers and their spouses will have the chance to learn more about all services available to individuals who have been displaced by this closure and navigate the next steps to reemployment.

The orientation session will give an overview of possible programs and services such as the unemployment insurance benefit program, job search and placement assistance, professional interviewing and resume preparation workshops, information about education and training opportunities, financial planning and stress management workshops, labor market information as well as veterans programs and services.

All former Dixie Chopper employees are encouraged to register with WorkOne before taking a new job. Anyone who cannot attend the session or who wants to start the process sooner is encouraged to visit a WorkOne office.

The Greencastle office is located at 1007 Mill Pond Lane, Greencastle, and can be reached at 653-2421.
