Alfred P. “Doc” Page III, 86, of Greencastle, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Alfred was born in Barrington, N.J., on Nov. 13, 1932, the son of Alfred P. Jr. and Ellen (Dean) Page.

After graduating from Lincoln College of Chiropractic with honors, Dr. Page owned and operated “Alfred P. Page III Chiropractic” for more than 45 years, retiring in 2014.

After receiving four different bachelor’s degrees, Alfred received a master’s degree from DePauw University. He was an instructor for the State of Indiana Homeland Security, he also was a fire department safety instructor and a Greencastle reserve firefighter. He was in fire service for 65 years, starting fire instruction in New Jersey, where he also started the Ambulance Corps and assisted in starting the Putnam County Operation Life Ambulance Service in Greencastle.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Delores Page of Greencastle; two children, Patricia Page-Tyree (husband Brian) of Avon and Craig Gardner (wife Shelley) of Greencastle; four grandchildren, Matthew (wife Allie), Danielle, Krista (husband Jonathan) and Nathan; two great-grandchildren, Brevin and Theo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Grundlock, brother-in-law Kenneth Grundlock and niece Susan Grundlock.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 and one hour prior to time of service on Monday.
