County Jail

Thirteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

On Friday:

• At 9:13 p.m. Jessie Landon Cummings, 27, Thornton, was booked into the jail on two Boone County warrants.

• At 1:04 p.m. Mitchell Richard Alexander, 46, Crawfordsville, was lodged in the jail for failure to appear.

• At 10:03 a.m. Christopher Todd Smith, 26, Greencastle, was booked into the jail for criminal trespass.

• At 2:35 a.m. Kevin Michael Bain, 33, Cloverdale, was booked into the jail for possession of marijuana and operating while intoxicated.

On Saturday:

• At 11:42 p.m. Ryan Samuel Pieper, 36, Cloverdale, was lodged in the jail on a body attachment.

• At 12:36 a.m. Shelby Lynn Nash, 27, Apache, Okla., was incarcerated on charges of possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.

On Sunday:

• At 12:58 p.m. Randall Wayne Green, 34, Lebanon, was booked into the jail for possession of stolen property.

• At 12:54 p.m. Charles Ray Sage II, 33, Greencastle, was incarcerated on a charge of possession of stolen property.

• At 9:55 p.m. Jeremy Daniel Harless, 37, Cloverdale, was booked into the jail on a local criminal warrant.

• At 9:19 p.m. Jason Lee Jones, 39, Greencastle, was lodged in the jail for invasion of privacy.

• At 5:31 p.m. Joshua Allen Sebastian, 28, Cloverdale, was booked into the jail on a local criminal warrant.

• At 5 a.m. Misty Dawn Brooks, 31, Cloverdale, was lodged in the jail on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

• At 4:47 a.m. Jennifer Lynn Allen, 36, Cloverdale, was booked into the jail on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 12:04 p.m. Friday, two Poland residents were arrested on theft and criminal trespassing charges at the Greencastle Walmart store.

Jennifer Marie Burns Buttery, 25, and Frederick Buttery Jr., 44, were arrested by Officer Brad Hiatt and lodged in the Putnam County Jail after an alleged shoplifting attempt at the self-scan terminal.

The Butterys reportedly took bags of dog and cat food, toys, games, a kids’ jumbo vehicle set and an inflatable bed with headrests with a total value of $168.60.

The suspects reportedly used cheaper adhesive-backed price tags they had peeled off clothing and a medicine bottle to paste over more expensive price tags on the items they were scanning, police said of the ill-fated shoplifting effort.

• At 10:09 p.m. Friday, Alexander James Law, 25, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Elsiana Crosby on Veterans Memorial Highway near Warren Drive for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior offense.

Law, who registered a .149 percent blood-alcohol level under portable breathalyzer testing, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Two recent citations were issued by City Police officers.

• At 4 p.m. Sunday, Rebecca Foust, 32, Greencastle, was cited by Reserve Officer Jared McDaniels.

Stopped on Veterans Highway near Percy Julian Drive, Foust was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

• At 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Tyler Shoemaker, 25, Greencastle, was ticketed by Reserve Officer McDaniels.

Stopped on Washington Street at Indianapolis Road, Shoemaker was cited for having an expired license plate.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six recent dispatches:

• At 2:19 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:23 and could not determine the cause of the alarm. The detector head was blown out and the alarm was reset. GFD left the scene at 2:35 p.m.

• At 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was called again to 208 E. Olive St. for another fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:10 and determined the alarm was caused by perfume. The alarm was then reset. GFD left the scene at 12:17 a.m.

• At 1:59 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 107 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:02 a.m. and determined the alarm was due to burnt food on a stove. The alarm was then reset. GFD left the scene at 2:06 a.m.

• At 10:41 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries near 1901 Indianapolis Rd. Units arrived on the scene at 10:44. No action was recorded because of a system failure. GFD was recorded as clearing the scene at 10:46 a.m.

• At 11:37 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 409 S. Jackson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:40 but could not determine the cause of the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 11:46 a.m.

• At 9:12 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 405 S. Jackson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:15 and could not determine the cause of the fire. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:23 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed six medical assists during this time.
