County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 10:48 p.m. Martin Ayala, 49, Lewis Center, Ohio, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated-refusal, during without ever receiving a license and possession of marijuana.

• At 2:50 p.m. Michael Everett Fife, 26, Reelsville, was taken into custody for failure to register as a sex or violent offender.

• At 1:01 p.m. Christina Nicole Kerr, 35, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Sunday

• At 11:16 p.m. Geoffrey Keith Kallner, 31, Greencastle, was booked in for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

• At 4:47 p.m. Joshua Kyle Moore, 30, Poland, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 8:40 a.m. Michael Shea McGlone, 50, Mt. Clemens, Mich., was taken into custody for possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated and on an out-of-county warrant.

Saturday

• At 5:26 p.m. Devinique Dangel Jones, 30, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for dealing in a Schedule I-III controlled substance, possession of a Schedule I-IV substance and trafficking with an inmate.

City Police

One recent ticket citation was issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, Charles Green, 37, Greencastle, was cited by Capt. Charles Inman.

Stopped on West Columbia Street, Green was ticketed for driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated seven recent property-damage accidents.

• At 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Kenzie N. Ayers, 22, Greencastle, was northbound on Manhattan Road in a 2015 Nissan Altima when she hit a deer.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 5:53 p.m. on Monday, Bruce Hamilton, 67, Avon, was eastbound on U.S. 36 in a 2013 Lincoln MKT when a dog ran across the road and he could not avoid hitting the animal.

The owner of the dog told Deputy Tanner Brown the animal ran across 36 toward another dog and into the path of Hamilton’s vehicle.

Brown estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 2:25 p.m. on Monday, David L. Harding, 56, Terre Haute, was southbound on County Road 325 West, approaching County Road 450 South in a 2013 Ford F-150. Jacquelyne E. York, 23, Greencastle, was northbound in a 1998 GMC Suburban.

York admitted to Deputy Matt Biggs that she crossed left of the centerline, resulting in damage to both driver’s side mirrors. There was also minor damage to the driver’s side window of the Harding vehicle.

Biggs estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 4:54 a.m. on Monday, Brandon A. Branch, 25, Terre Haute, was eastbound on U.S. 40 at County Road 800 West in a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when he hit a deer.

Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, Sandra L. Jensen, 53, Plainfield, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2009 Ford Escape when she hit a deer.

Deputy Daniel Birt estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 11:44 p.m. on Saturday, Michael K. Phillips, 33, Greencastle, was southbound on Manhattan Road in a 2015 Dodge Ram when a deer ran into the driver’s side of his truck.

Deputy Birt estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, Jennifer D. Stranger, 43, Roachdale, was eastbound on State Road 236 in a 2003 Ford Windstar when she hit a deer.

Deputy Birt estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

•At 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 1015 S. College Ave. for a call regarding a dumpster fire. Firefighters arrived at 12:25 and put out the fire. GFD also informed the homeowners of the city burn ordinance. GFD went back into service at 1:18 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed one medical assist before this dispatch.
