Boys

Sullivan (7-3, 2-1) at South Putnam (7-3, 1-2)

Tipoff: 7:30 p.m.

The coaches: Jeff Moore is in his 29th year at Sullivan. Greg Dean is in his fifth year at South Putnam.

On the air: WREB-FM 94.3 will broadcast the game.

So far: Sullivan’s only losses have come to Greencastle, Edgewood and Linton-Stockton.

South Putnam has only lost to Greencastle, West Vigo and Greenwood Christian.

So far: North Putnam has lost three of its last four games. West Vigo has lost four straight games since opening the season 3-3.

The history: North Putnam won 57-47 at home last year. The teams have split two games over the past 30 years.

So far: Cloverdale broke a three-game losing streak Friday with a win over Shakamak. Owen Valley broke a two-game winning streak Saturday with a loss to Casey-Westfield.

The history: Cloverdale won 76-38 at home last year. OV holds an 11-9 series lead over the past 30 years.

So far: North Putnam had a four-game winning streak broken with a loss at Speedway last Thursday. West Vigo has lost nine straight games since starting the season 3-3.

Per-game averages: Offense – North 41.6, WV 34.1. Defense – North 41.7, WV 50.1.

The history: North Putnam won 39-33 at home last year. The teams have split two games in the past 15 years.

Opponents’ records: North 139-125, WV 115-113.

WIC impact: North can stay in contention for the West Division title with a win.

Key players: Freshmen Kyla Willis (10.3) and Brie Miller (8.8) lead North Putnam in scoring.

The coaches: Matthew Langdon is in his eighth year at Cloverdale. Trace Temples is in his third year at Owen Valley.

On the air: WCLS-FM 97.7 will broadcast the game.

So far: Cloverdale has won three straight games. Its only losses have come to Danville, Greencastle and Brownstown Central. Owen Valley won the Toby Yoho Classic last week at Eastern Greene and has won four straight games. The Patriots have lost to Greencastle, Linton, Bloomington North, Mooresville and Bloomington South.

Per-game averages: Offense – Cloverdale 56.4 OV 49.3. Defense – Cloverdale 44.3, OV 39.7.

The history: Owen Valley won 55-31 last year at Cloverdale, and holds a 12-2 record over the past 15 years.

Opponents’ records: Cloverdale 124-149, OV 144-149.

WIC impact: The winner takes over sole possession of first place in the East Division.

Key players: Senior Tori Combs, a Lincoln Trail College signee, leads the Clovers in scoring (15.8) and rebounding (13.9). Junior Sammie Shrum adds 14.5 points per game, while junior Lakkain Price adds 7.3 rebounds per game.

Huntington University signee Dazia Drake leads Owen Valley in scoring with 14.6 points per game and is the only Patriot in double figures.
