County players get recognition from WVFCA
Several Putnam County players recently received recognition from the Wabash Valley Football Coaches Association on its all-valley team.
South Putnam linebacker Dalton Scott and offensive lineman Trey Wood and tight end Gavin Bollman of Greencastle were all named first-team selections.
Second-team selections were Greencastle running back Damon Moody, Newton (Ill.) running back Aaron Buttery (a former Greencastle player), defensive back Alex Costin of Greencastle and defensive lineman Luke Sanford and defensive back Aidan Baker of North Putnam.
Numerous players from all Putnam County teams earned honorable mention, and several others were named Academic All-Wabash Valley for having a grade-point average of 3.5 or better for the fall semester.
The WVFCA consists of 19 schools in Indiana and eight in Illinois, and works to promote and recognize high school football in the Wabash Valley.
Rosters will be announced soon for the all-star game to be played this summer.
