County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 6:38 a.m. Charles Gerard VanKempen, 25, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for possession of stolen property.

• At 6:30 a.m. Miranda Jo McNew, 30, Stilesville, was booked in for possession of stolen property.

• At 1:29 a.m. Chelsea Renee Taylor, 23, Brazil, was lodged at the jail on revocation of work release.

Wednesday

• At 9:34 p.m. Natasha Marie Franklin, 34, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for domestic battery.

• At 9:33 p.m. Christopher Noel Franklin, 42, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for domestic battery.

City Police

One arrest was reported Wednesday afternoon by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 2:46 p.m. Stacy Daniel Hensley, 25, Bainbridge, was arrested for theft by Officer Brad Hiatt at the Greencastle Walmart store.

Hensley allegedly took $452 in merchandise in the reported shoplifting incident, including a backpack, jump starter, mobile phone, Colts emblem, pocketknife, two CO2 pistols and other miscellaneous items.

Authorities said the suspect placed the items in the backpack, put it on his back and headed out the grocery area exit, past all points of sale before he was stopped by Walmart loss prevention personnel and police were called.

In addition to being booked into the jail on the theft charge, Hensley was also held on a Putnam County warrant for fraud and a Hendricks County warrant for theft and another Hendricks warrant listing multiple charges.

Three recent citations were issued by city officers.

• At 10:11 p.m. Saturday, Michael Vance, 28, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Kyle Lee.

Stopped on Hanna Street near Illinois Street, Vance was cited for having a false or fictitious license plate.

• At 2:19 p.m. Saturday, Ryan Wilson, 42, Cloverdale, was issued a pair of citations by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on Frazier Street, Wilson was ticketed for having an expired license plate and for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

• At 9:01 a.m. Saturday, Jennifer Trumbo, 36, Cloverdale, was ticketed by Officer Hiatt.

Trumbo was stopped on Vine Street and cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.
