Legislative Update debut set Saturday for Beau Baird; Bray will be in Spencer

The Legislative Update series will make its 2019 debut Saturday, Jan. 19 when the Putnam County Farm Bureau hosts its first session of the new year.

The program is scheduled to feature the three men who represent Putnam County in the Indiana General Assembly currently under way at Indianapolis -- District 44 State Rep. Beau Baird (R-Greencastle), District 37 State Sen. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) and District 24 State Sen. John Crane (R-Avon).

However. it was announced Tuesday that Bray will be in Spencer this Saturday and come to Greencastle for the Feb. 16 session.

Saturday's 8 a.m. program will mark the Legislative Update debut of Beau Baird, who has succeeded his father, Jim, as District 44 representative. Jim Baird is now the U.S. congressman from Indiana's 4th District.

The update meeting is set for the board room of the Farm Bureau office, 1001 N. Jackson St., Greencastle.

Subsequent Legislative Update sessions are scheduled for Feb. 16 and March 16, which are the third Saturdays of each month.

Putnam County Farm Bureau President Steve Cash serves as moderator of the free, public sessions.

Cinnamon rolls and coffee will be provided.
