County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Friday

• At 12:05 a.m. Lectie Ruth Stidham, 50, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 10:10 p.m. Paul Andrew Tanoos, 39, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

• At 12:01 p.m. Andre Dionte Clark, 24, Plainfield, was taken into custody for possession of marijuana.

• At 10:31 a.m. Justin Levi Burnham, 32, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

• At 10:31 a.m. Aaron M. Hunt, 30, Rosedale, was booked in for driving with a suspended license.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:59 p.m. Thursday, Angela Huff, 40, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Elsiana Crosby at a Castlebury Drive residence.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Huff was taken into custody on a Putnam County warrant for criminal trespass.

One recent citation was issued by city officers.

• At 11:23 p.m. Jan. 10, Datrevian Holder, 23, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped at Fifth Street and Avenue C, Holder was cited for operating a motor vehicle without receiving a license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to nine recent dispatches:

• At 6:57 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident near County Road 50 East. GFD arrived at 7:09 a.m. to find that a car had slid off the roadway due to icy conditions, but had been abandoned. The car had minimal damage and no fluid was leaking, but its doors were locked. GFD went back into service at 7:27 a.m.

• At 12:07 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 110 E. Larabee St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:12 but could not determine the cause of the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 12:15 a.m.

• At 2:27 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was called to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Percy Julian Drive and Veterans Memorial Highway. Units arrived on the scene at 2:34 to help the victims and clean up debris. As one victim was a minor and another needed treatment, GFD waited until both were released from its care and the damaged cars were removed. GFD returned to station at 8:18 a.m.

• At 9:52 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:56 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 10:02 a.m.

• At 10:02 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 414 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:03 and found the alarm was reportedly set off due to smoke from marijuana. The alarm was then reset by DePauw University Public Safety. GFD went back into service at 10:06 a.m.

• At 10:47 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched again to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:52 and again determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was again reset. GFD left at 11 a.m.

• At 12:39 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched again to 414 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:42 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was again reset. GFD left at 12:48 p.m.

• At 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a smoke alarm at 608 Primrose Lane. Firefighters arrived at 3:19 but found smoke was coming from a fire that was burning in a wood stove. GFD cleared the alarm and went back into service at 3:25 p.m.

• At 6:13 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 415 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:17 and found smoke from candles had caused the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 6:26 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed nine medical assists and had one disregard during this time.
