Chris Flegal

Having named Chris Flegal as its new executive director in December, the United Way of Putnam County is hosting a special meet-and-greet from 8-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana St.

The event is free and open to the public and will include light refreshments provided by Putnam Inn.

The event is an opportunity to connect with the new director and to learn more about how the United Way is continuing to impact Putnam County.

Established in 1967, the United Way of Putnam County works to improve lives by focusing on income, health, and education. The organization brings community members and agencies together to “Live United” through programs, volunteer opportunities, social awareness and fundraising efforts that help to address the immediate and long-term needs of the citizens of Putnam County.

Prior to joining the United Way team, Flegal was the community engagement coordinator for DePauw School of Music. Currently, Flegal serves as the executive director of the Greencastle Summer Music Festival and is a member of the Putnam County Visitors Bureau Arts & Culture Committee.

In addition, he is completing a Master of Arts in arts administration from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Both Chris and his wife Kayla (Birt) Flegal are proud residents of Greencastle and excited to serve the community through the United Way of Putnam County.
