Preparedness exercise undertaken at PCH

Putnam County Hospital hosted a community-based Emergency Preparedness tabletop exercise Tuesday, Jan. 29 focused on a weather-related event.

The exercise was a requirement for long-term care facilities to work with organizations within their community to prepare for different types of emergencies. Organizations and employees representingt Putnam County Hospital, Putnam County Health Department, Asbury Towers Retirement Community, Mill Pond Health Campus, Hickory Creek at Sunset, Summerfield Health Campus, The Waters of Greencastle, EMA, EOC, Putnam County Fire Department, Res Care, Putnam County Operation Life, Putnam County Comprehensive Services, Putnam County Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and Star Ambulance were on hand.

The exercise was evaluated by the Indiana State Department of Health. It takes commitment, expertise and preparedness in the likelihood that an event might occur.
