Moore records unusual stat line

alen Moore had a rather unconventional statistical line in Saturday’s 101-79 win at Southwestern Illinois.

The No. 17-ranked Olney Central Blue Knights improved to 20-2 on the season with their third straight win.

Moore did not score a point, missing all four of his field goal attempts, but dished out 16 assists.

Moore, the team’s leading scorer, still drew praise from his coach despite not making a basket.

“I really liked how we shared the basketball Saturday,” OCC coach Mike Burris said. “We had 35 assists on 38 field goals. Jalen broke a school record with 16 assists, and he was bigtime in finding guys.

“We scored 101 points without our leading scorer getting a single point, yet he was still dominant.”

The Blue Knights will host Lewis & Clark Community College on Wednesday, and play at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Ill., on Saturday.
