Forged by the Sea

As fellow sailors enjoy the ride, Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Tonya Clark of Cloverdale drives a rigid-hull inflatable boat during a recent small boat operation training at Naval Base San Diego. Clark participated in the training to obtain her coxswain qualification. A 2015 graduate of Cloverdale High School, BM3 Clark is assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island, homeported in San Diego, which is conducting a depot-level maintenance availability.
