Robert Lee Aker

Robert Lee Aker, 82, of Reelsville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Bob was born on Jan. 7, 1937, in Reelsville, the son of Daniel Aaron and Violet (Spear) Aker.

He graduated from Reelsville High School with the Class of 1955.

Bob was a founding member of the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Reelsville United Methodist Church.

He worked at Putnam Plastics for many years and retired in 1999.

In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Kehrer) Aker, and siblings Morris Aker and Joseph Aker.

Bob is survived by his children, Teresa (Michael) Reisinger, Randy Aker, Stephen (Debbie) Aker and Shawn Aker; six grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Reisinger, Nathan and Cameron Aker, Morgan and Madison Aker; two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Elizabeth Reisinger; foster daughter Mary (Bruce) Tuxhorn; two brothers, Dan Aker and Ralph Aker; special friend Debbie Sadler; Brantley Spencer as well as many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson -- Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, on Monday, Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Steve Blaydes officiating. Burial will follow at Croy's Creek Cemetery.
