Foul play not suspected in diner parking lot death

CLOVERDALE — Authorities suspect no foul play in the Saturday death of a man outside of a Cloverdale eatery.

Coroner Dave Brown said his office is investigating the death of the 30-year-old man, who was found deceased in a vehicle in the parking lot of Lou’s Diner, 3 Stardust Way.

Brown described the situation as an “unexpected, unattended death,” but added that authorities have reason to believe the man, who has not been identified, had medical issues that contributed to his death.

The coroner said the man had not been under a doctor’s care but had reportedly been suffering from breathing problems in the days leading up to his death.

The man may have even gotten in the vehicle to go to the hospital.

“We’re operating under the impression that it was a medical issue,” Brown said.
