Charlene (Buckles) Custis

Charlene (Buckles) Custis, 66, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 after battling cancer.

She was born in East St. Louis, Ill., on Dec. 9, 1952, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Buckles.

Charlene graduated from Greencastle High School and worked for Happico/Chiyoda for 25 years before retiring.

She attended Putnamville Baptist Church and Hanna Street Baptist Church. She was a Moose Lodge member for 32 years.

Charlene loved the beach, ocean and flamingos.

She always put her family and friends first. She was an amazing seamstress.

Her two greatest joys on earth were her two dachshunds, Prince and Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Vallera Clubb.

Survivors include her two dachshunds, Prince and Charlie, Greencastle, and ex-husband Fayne Custis, Greencastle.

Funeral arrangements will be taken care of by Indiana Green Burials.

Private services will take place at Brick Chapel, Greencastle and Daytona Beach, Fla., at later dates.

In her memory, please donated to the Humane Society of Putnam County, as Charlene did every month.
