County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Friday

• At 11:16 a.m. Frank Adam Roche, 28, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 9:53 a.m. Shelby Ciera Darlene Casteel, 25, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 9:23 a.m. Melanie Lea Rice, 32, Clinton, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 2:13 p.m. Cory J. Fingers, 28, Newberg, was booked in for aggravated battery.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property damage crash.

• At 1:08 p.m. on Sunday, Jennifer A. Campbell, 26, Fillmore, was westbound on County Road 300 North, completing the 90-degree turn off of County Road 700 East in a 1995 Oldsmobile Ciera. Stephen E. Peterson, 47, Coatesville, was eastbound on 300 North approaching the same intersection in a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.

As she completed her turn, Campbell crossed the center line, colliding head-on with Peterson’s vehicle.

Mendy M. Ruble, 42, Coatesville, was also coming out of the turn to proceed westbound in a 2008 Ford Edge when she crossed left of center and collided with the driver’s side of Peterson’s vehicle.

All three vehicles were driven from the scene. Deputy Scott Ducker estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 12:08 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 303 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:12 and determined that the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 12:21 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed two medical assists before this dispatch.
