Silver Linings Players ready for new performance on Thursday

Monday, March 11, 2019

The Silver Lining Players have not been performing during these cold winter months, but don't think they've been idle.

They've created a mission statement: "Silver Lining Players are volunteers who share their joy in performing readers' theater for members of the community desiring our shows. We can make theater available to any group, including those unable to attend more traditional venues."

They are also developing new material: "Yesterday," lovers reunite after many years. "Fourteen," a farce by Alice Gerstenberg. "His Return," a soldier comes home after World War I. And"King Arthur's Socks," three women are in love the the same man -- Lancelot.

The first performance of 2019 will be "The Boor" by Anton Chekhov. The Putnam County Public Library will host the one-act comedy at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14. Jim Rambo, Karen Temple and Ben Dulaski will be reading.

Other performances are scheduled through spring into the summer. They have even been invited to perform in Seymour.

Silver Lining Players meet the first and third Mondays from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St.,Greencastle.

The next meeting is March 18. New volunteers are always welcome.
