In partnership with the Library of Congress, 4th District Indiana Congressman Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) has announced a Veterans History Project to recognize and honor veterans in the 4th Congressional District.

The program is designed to assist the Library of Congress in archiving their stories.

"The extraordinary bravery and sacrifices of our veterans inspire us, and they deserve to be remembered forever. We look forward to hearing from these local heroes who answered the call of duty for our country," Congressman Baird said.

Baird's Danville office will be meeting with veterans throughout the district to ensure their stories are not forgotten.

Future dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

If you are a veteran and would like to share your oral history, or you live in the 4th Congressional District and would like to help Baird's office interview veterans and collect their stories, persons may contact Diane Hubbard at diane.hubbard@mail.house.gov or call Danville District Office at 317-563-5567 for more information.

Congressman Baird, who represents Putnam and 15 other counties in Indiana's 4th Congressional District, is a Vietnam War veteran. A lifelong Hoosier, he serves as a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
