ROACHDALE — A grain semi off the road caused the road to be closed between Roachdale and the Montgomery County line Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Shortly before noon, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department reported that the semi had left the west side of the road on County Road 250 East just south of County Road 1400 North (county line).

No one was injured in the accident.

The cleanup took several hours, as the load of beans had to be offloaded before wrecker crews could recover the tractor-trailer.

The sheriff’s department reported the roadway was clear by mid-afternoon.

No driver information was given, but the sign on the semi door indicated that the semi belonged to McCutchan Farms of New Ross.
