Anna Marie Gearld

Anna Marie (Martin) Gearld, 86, Greencastle, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

She was born in March 1933 in Greenbriar, Tenn., to the late Thomas Garrett Martin and Mary Alice (Coleman) Martin.

Anna attended Broad Ripple High School and had been employed by Western Electric and RCA in Indianapolis and Mallory’s in Greencastle.

She was a member of the Greencastle Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She married Wayne N. Gearld in July 1954 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1982.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Teresa Rogers (Norman) of Greencastle; brother Thomas G. Martin (Julie) of Greenfield; sisters Sandra (Kathy) Buchanan of Fairland and Kathi M. Phillips (Frank) of Tennessee; grandchildren Blaine King (Brent) of Florida, Lisa Pirinelli (Greg) of Westfield and Jason Gearld (Marisa) of California; great-grandchildren Tre and Lyla Beckett, Eva Pirinelli and Phoenix Gearld and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anna was preceded in death by her son Jay V. Gearld, sister Billie Jean Click, niece Susan Click and nephew Jeff Click.

A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Greencastle.
