Let There Be Light

Tuesday, April 2, 2019
Traffic is reduced to one lane along East Franklin Street in front of Jerry’s Foreign Auto Tuesday afternoon as a Duke Energy project is undertaken by 5 Star Electric. The utility work, which moved that light to a pole across the street, also involved moving a light away from the intersection and further south on Jackson Street near Burdge Boots, along with switching a light to another pole on North Indiana Street. Mayor Bill Dory said that the old fixtures being replaced date back to 1948 or 1949, and are being changed out with the first LED lights installed in the city. Meanwhile, the poles in front of Jerry’s and on North Indiana Street are being removed as part of the project.
