Tiger Pointe update set Sunday afternoon at Almost Home

Friday, April 5, 2019

An update on the new clubhouse project and course changes to Tiger Pointe Country Club is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at Almost Home on the north side of the Courthouse Square in Greencastle.

Owner Lee Tenzer, who purchased the former Windy Hill Country Club last April, will have an open house for any current members interested in future plans, anyone interested in a Tiger Pointe membership or those interested in corporate memberships.

The nine-hole golf course serves the local community and has been home to DePauw golf teams, whose alumni include Dan Quayle '69, the 44th vice president of the United States; TV golf analyst Mark Rolfing '71; and Fox News anchor Bret Baier '92. The course opened in 1955.

    Now, now...

Better this than a dilapidated patch of grass and a run-down building on snob hill.

As a non-native (not born/raised in Greencastle) hearing that term for the first time over 30 years ago, I always thought that was a funny moniker.

As long as they don't pick my pockets - I wish them the best of luck. A good man I once knew always told me - a rising tide lifts all boats.

I am curious how, exactly, does this place "serve the community", though... it was and still is a PRIVATE club. Maybe they employ denizens of the avenues? (Sorry, gallows humor.)

Again, as a non-native, I still find the long-suffering class warfare in such a small town rather comical.
