Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Congressman Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) encourages high school students from Indiana’s 4th Congressional District to submit artwork for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Entries will be accepted until Wednesday, May 1.

“I am excited to have high school students from across our 4th District participate and showcase their artistic ability,” Baird said. “It’s a great opportunity for Hoosiers to visit our nation’s capital and have their talents displayed in the halls of Congress. I look forward to seeing the great work of our students this year.”

The winner will have his or her artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, as well as receive two round-trip plane tickets to attend a reception in Washington, D.C.

Artwork entries may be up to 26 inches by 26 inches (including the frame), and up to four inches in depth and 15 pounds in weight. Entries should be in one of the following mediums: Paintings, oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.; drawings, pastels, pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, ink, markers (charcoal and pastel should be fixed); collages, must be two dimensional; prints, lithographs, silkscreen, block prints; computer-generated art; photographs; or mixed media, use of two or more of the above mediums.

One entry is allowed per student. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution, and may not violate U.S. copyright laws. They may also not depict subjects of contemporary political controversy, be sensationalistic or gruesome in nature.

All entries must include a Student Information and Release Form for the competition, which can be found online. Submissions can be dropped off at Congressman Baird’s Danville District Office (355 S. Washington St., Suite 210, Danville, IN 46122) during business hours.

    More fluff and nonsense.

Mr. Baird, do you need me to send you a copy of the Constitution of the United States?

Perhaps a sit down to help you understand it?

Or do you prefer to simply be another politician?... another party man working your way through for your own personal gain at the expense of the country?

$22 Trillion in debt, Mr. Baird.

    And you give us fluff.
