Dr. Keith Thomae

The monthly Dine with a Doc program, sponsored by Senior Education Ministries, will feature Dr. Keith Thomae of the Putnam County Hospital Surgery Center on Monday, April 22.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at The Waters of Greencastle, 1601 Hospital Drive, in a location change for this month.

Dine with a Doc is a free community-based program that welcomes the local senior public to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch. It is a community effort of a doctor, lunch sponsor, the senior citizens, local churches and area businesses coming together for the good of all to serve the senior citizens.

Dine with a Doc is designed to allow seniors to get out of their homes, fellowship with peers and be educated (from a preventative standpoint) with the goal of improving their quality of life and providing them with the resources and information to make an informed choice about healthcare.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Dr. Thomae did his residency at the Loyola University of Chicago.

He has served as associate professor of surgery/trauma at the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Thomae is a member of a number of surgical societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Society of General Surgeons, Midwest Surgical Association, American Hernia Society, Association of Cosmetic Physicians and Indiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.

A complimentary lunch will be served, courtesy of Mill Pond Health Campus.

Hickory Creek at Sunset will offer a complimentary wellness clinic (blood pressure screening) and will emcee the program on behalf of Senior Education Ministries.

Various health care providers will be present to share information about their services and provide door prizes for attendees.
