County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 9:36 p.m. Michael Edward Holdridge, 53, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated and driving as a habitual traffic violator.

• At 3:20 p.m. Michael Scott Pryor, 27, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 1:42 p.m. Antonio L. Williams, 34, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a court order.

• At 11:30 a.m. Cory Michael Walker, 29, Crossville, Tenn., was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

One recent accident resulted in minor injuries to one driver, Greencastle City Police reported.

• At 12:49 p.m Thursday, a two-vehicle accident was reported on State Road 240 near its intersection with Fillmore Road.

Officer Josh Smith reported that John Sims, 56, Fillmore, was eastbound, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, when he stopped to turn left onto Fillmore Road.

Also eastbound was Kayla McCloud, 25, Plainfield, driving a Nissan Verano. She did not immediately notice that Sims had stopped to turn, police said. She swerved to miss the Sims truck but ended up sideswiping it.

Sims said he saw in his rearview mirror that the car behind him was approaching at a high rate of speed and let off his brakes prior to impact.

McCloud was taken to Putnam County Hospital with undisclosed minor injuries.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Three recent citations were issued by Greencastle officers.

• At 7:32 p.m. Saturday, Jason Pierce, 21, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Elsiana Crosby.

Stopped on South Street near Zinc Mill Road, Pierce was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

• At 12:13 a.m. Saturday, Dwayne Doolin, 31, Indianapolis, was given a pair of citations by Officer Alec Pettit.

Stopped on South Jackson Street, Doolin was cited for possession of marijuana and was given a speeding ticket for doing 64 mph in a 40-mph zone.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 8:40 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:44 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 8:50 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed two medical assists before this dispatch.
