Locust Street closing set for next week

Friday, April 26, 2019

Construction crews working on the DePauw University infrastructure project on South Locust Street are scheduling additional work requiring a second full street closure for next week (Monday, April 29-Friday, May 3). The closure will extend over the course of the entire week.

The detour path will remain as before. Howard and Olive streets will remain open during the work, which is part of the preparation effort for the new first-year residence hall to be constructed at the southwest corner of Olive and Locust streets.

Rock removal has begun so there may be additional noise associated with this activity, DePauw officials said. Depth of the work seems to be dampening the sounds to some extent and crews hope to be out of the rock as soon as possible.
