Rudy Max Green

Rudy Max Green, 83, of Greencastle, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019, after a two-year battle with dementia at Asbury Towers .

Rudy was born in Harmony on May 12, 1935 the son of Albert George and Minerva Ellen (Lash) Green

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mr. Green was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brazil. He owned and operated Green’s Electric for more than 20 years. Prior to starting his business, Rudy worked at Lone Star for 13 years and 1st Citizens Bank for 14 years. He was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed woodworking. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joan Green; three children, Daniel Green (wife Brenda) of Greencastle, Timothy Green (wife Sandy) of Reelsville and Diane Priest (husband Jeff) of Greencastle; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Paul Ford; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Luanne Ford; two brothers, Franklin Green and Albert George Green Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Jason Selby officiating. Burial will follow in Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
