PCPH sets May 5-6 auditions for ‘Send Me No Flowers’

Two sessions of auditions have been scheduled for the comedy “Send Me No Flowers” at Putnam County Playhouse.

Director TJ Tincher will have auditions at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, and again at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6. Both sessions will be in the rehearsal center at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre off Round Barn Road on Greencastle’s East Side.

The comedy will be staged July 11-13 and July 17-20.

Characters to be cast include George and Judy Kimball, a married couple. George is a hypochondriac and thinks he has only a short time to live. Other roles are Arnold Nash, George’s best friend, and Bert Power, Judy’s old crush. All of these characters have a stage age of 30-50.

Also being sought are performers to play Dr. Morrisey, George’s physician, and Mr. Akins, a cemetery plot salesman. These characters also have a stage age of 30-50s.

There are also roles for Vito, a delivery boy in his 20s, and three passersby and a young girl – all of whom show up in George’s fantasies.

There are no roles for children in this production.
