SPORTS BRIEFS (FREE ACCESS): Greencastle baseball hosting youth nights

Greencastle High School’s baseball team will be having youth nights next Tuesday and Thursday.

The Cubs will host North Putnam at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Dugger Union at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Any player or coach who wears a youth league game jersey to the game will receive free admission on either day.

Greencastle hosting volleyball skills camp this summer

The Greencastle volleyball program will be hosting a camp this summer for any incoming girls in grades 3-8 for the 2019-2020 school year.

The camp is from June 3-5 and will be run by high school coaches Maggie Walters and Denise Meyer at McAnally Center. The junior varsity and varsity volleyball players will also be assisting and coaching.

The price of the camp will be $60. Each camper will need to pay cash or check (make checks out to Greencastle Volleyball) prior to or on the first day of camp in order to participate. The price includes volleyball skills instruction and a camp T-shirt. Campers that sign up the day of camp will not receive a T-shirt (orders will already be completed). For lunch, the campers will be escorted to the high school for free lunch in the cafeteria. Campers may also bring their own lunches.

Forms are available at all Greencastle schools.

Campers will need to wear some sort of workout shorts shirt, and tennis shoes. Knee pads and water bottles are highly recommended.

8-8:30 a.m. - Check-in

8:30-10:30 a.m. - Skills Instruction

10:30 a.m.-noon - Break/Lunch

Noon-2 p.m. - Game Simulations/Scrimmage

June 4-5

8:30-10:30 a.m.- Skills Instruction

10:30 a.m.-noon - Break/Lunch

Noon-2 p.m. - Game Simulations/Scrimmage
