County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 10:59 p.m. Patrick Arthur Payton, 45, Roachdale, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

• At 4:52 p.m. April Dawn (Williams) Wilson, 38, Brazil, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 12:05 a.m. Darren Lee Coffenberry, 48, Veedersburg, was booked in for theft and escape.

Tuesday

• At 10:55 p.m. Jesse Dane Burris, 35, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a pair of local warrants.

• At 10:53 p.m. James Allen Lewis, 40, Covington, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 8:35 a.m. Roland Gene Lottman, 56, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for driving as a habitual traffic violator and driving while intoxicated, endangering a person.

Indiana State Police

Indiana State troopers from the Putnamville Post made a pair of recent arrests in Putnam County.

• Early Thursday morning, Trooper Kevin Fowler stopped a vehicle on U.S. 40 near County Road 900 East for unsafe lane movement.

Fowler discovered that the man, Nicholas Allen Perry, 31, Indianapolis, was intoxicated, testing at .27 percent blood alcohol content.

Perry was lodged at the Putnam County Jail at 5:14 a.m. for driving while intoxicated.

• On Tuesday afternoon, Trooper John Myers stopped Shelby Ciera Darlene Casteel, 25, Fillmore, at U.S. 36 and County Road 725 East.

Myers found that Casteel was wanted on an active Putnam County warrant for auto theft.

Casteel was booked in the Putnam County Jail at 2:25 p.m.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Milan L. Tyler, 68, Poland, was eastbound on U.S. 40 when a deer ran into the driver’s side of his 2013 Ford pickup.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 2:31 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on State Road 240 at the entrance to Crown Equipment. Units arrived at 2:39 and cleaned debris from the roadway. GFD returned to station at 2:50 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed two medical assists and had one disregard before this dispatch.
