County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 7:48 p.m. Wesley Nathan January, 28, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail for possession of marijuana and for being a habitual traffic violator.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 6 a.m. on Thursday, Alan M. Kleiber, 24, Fillmore, was northbound on County Road 250 East, approaching the curve at County Road 650 North in a 1994 Toyota Corolla.

Due to heavy fog, Kleiber failed to negotiate the curve and hit a chain link fence belonging to the Town of Bainbridge.

Kleiber was taken to Hendricks Regional for treatment of a head laceration.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:03 p.m. Thursday, Hope Misamore, 33, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown.

Taken into custody on North Madison Street, Misamore was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for criminal mischief.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Misamore was also held on a new charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Two recent accidents were investigated by city officers.

• At 2:29 p.m. Thursday, a two-vehicle accident was reported on State Road 240 near the entrance to Crown Equipment.

Officer Darrrel Bunten reported that Colton Croan, 29, Fillmore, had just turned right off Fillmore Road in a 1992 Ford F-250 truck and signaled to turn left into the Crown lot. While he was stopped in traffic, Croan’s truck was reportedly struck from behind by a 2004 Buick Rendezvous, driven by Annette Gross, 49, Greencastle.

Witnesses said the westbound Gross car rear-ended the Croan truck without braking, resulting in damage estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Gross was transported to Hendricks County Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

• At 7:13 p.m. Monday, a minor mishap on Franklin Street, near North Jackson Street, resulted in a citation for Bren Donaldson, 29, Roachdale.

Donaldson was reportedly backing a 2003 GM Yukon from a parking space when his vehicle struck a parked 2005 Chevrolet Express, owned by Michael Shouse.

Total damage in the accident was listed at less than $1,000.

Officer Elsiana Crosby issued Donaldson an infraction of operating without financial responsibility.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 401 Longcastle Dr. for a smoke alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:48 and found the smoke detector battery had gone bad. GFD replaced the battery and informed the homeowner on how to check it. GFD went back into service at 11:02 p.m.

• At 11:45 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:49 but found no indication of a fire. GFD determined the alarm had malfunctioned and maintenance was notified. GFD returned to station at 11:54 a.m.
