Barr daughters to talk, sign books at PCPL

The daughters of late newspaperman David Barr, who have compiled nearly 2,800 of his articles into a two-volume set, will be at the Putnam County Public Library Wednesday, May 15 to talk about their father and the books they produced.

The 6:30 p.m. program is free of charge. Books will be available for them sign and sell ($50 per set).

Daughters Anita McEnulty of Cloverdale and Mary Ruth Jones of Terre Haute, with additional family help, have turned 2,765 local newspaper articles by David Barr into two volumes spanning 1,200 pages.

Volume 1 of “The David Barr Papers” contains the Putnam Personalities columns Barr wrote for the Putnam County Graphic from 1948 to 1957. Volume 2 includes his popular Putnam Patter articles as well as a few opinion pieces and features he wrote for the Banner Graphic from 1972 to 1992.

The author’s talk will be in the Kiwanis Room of the library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.
