Gobin supports SAWs with community grant
Gobin Memorial United Methodist church has awarded SAWs (Servants at Work) its latest small community grant of $1,000.
Gobin’s small grants program awards up to $1,000 quarterly to support local mission and service projects. Its goal is to maintain and grow projects that provide hope and support to individuals struggling with personal, spiritual, emotional or economic issues.
SAWs, a mission of Greencastle Presbyterian Church, provides handicap ramps, steps and safety rails to disabled residents in Putnam County, usually free of charge.
Since the launch of SAWs in 2009, the mission has helped 185 handicapped residents in Putnam County, including 20 in 2018.
“SAWs is once again looking for Putnam County residents who need help,” says John Anderson, SAWs program coordinator.
Anyone in need of a ramp is encouraged to contact SAWs at 653-5713, or email churchoffice@cinergymetro.net.
