Conspire to host art show during First Friday

Tuesday, June 4, 2019

With a crowd already downtown for First Friday festivities as well as a DePauw Alumni Weekend block party, Conspire Contemporary Craft will present an art show by a pair of Indiana artists on Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m.

The opening night, featuring works by M.Rees and Bekka Sage, will also include the artists giving live printing demonstrations and explaining the techniques behind their artwork.

M.Rees lives in Putnam County, where the predominately rural landscape continually feeds his appreciation and wonder for the natural world. His interpretations of ecosystems and the creatures inhabiting them lean toward the neo-folk art tradition.

Indianapolis printmaker Bekka Sage is an artist at heart but a designer in practice. She currently is the brand manager at Hendricks Regional Health and dreams about the opportunity to paint murals.

The art exhibition itself will run through the month of June.
