Two seriously injured in Roachdale incident early Thursday

ROACHDALE — An incident early Thursday morning left a young man and young woman with serious bodily injuries.

At 3:44 a.m., police were called to South Indiana Street in Roachdale for an unconscious female found in the road.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, which included Roachdale Police, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Bainbridge Police, Roachdale Fire Department, PMH Ambulance and Operation Life Ambulance, a male was discovered in a car a short distance away.

Both subjects had sustained serious bodily injuries.

The male, age 20, of Fillmore, was transported to Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, then to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.

The female, age 18, of Danville, was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the incident. They have no reason to believe at this time that there is a threat to the larger public in connection with this incident.
