• At 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Caleb R. Ramsey, 19, Brownsburg, was northbound on County Road 600 East in a 2018 Ford Mustang.

Due to speed, Ramsey ran off the road on a 90-degree turn. The car traveled about 75 yards off the road before coming to rest in a pond.

Ramsey and his passenger exited safely and were checked out by Operation Life medics.

Both Adams Towing and the Danville Fire Department dive team were called to retrieve the car, but they opted to leave it until daylight.

• At 1:42 a.m. on Tuesday, Deputy Riley Houghton was dispatched to 7126 E. CR 800 North for a report of a pickup truck crashed into a garage. The suspect had fled on foot.

The driver, 35-year-old Joshua D. Smith, Coatesville, was later located and taken to Putnam County Hospital. He was examined by medical staff before being booked in Putnam County Jail for misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, failure to stop after an accident and criminal recklessness.

The 2016 Ford F-350 was towed. Houghton estimated damage at $25,000-$50,000

• At 6:28 p.m. on Monday, Kymberley R. Burris, 37, Greencastle, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2008 Nissan Altima. Stephanie Alcorn, 29, Greencastle, was trying to turn left out of the Putnam County Fairgrounds in a 2015 GMC Terrain.

Burris told Deputy Robert Soilleux the other vehicle started to pull out in front of her, so she swerved left but was T-boned in the passenger side.

Alcorn told Soilleux she saw two vehicles with their right turn signals on, so she began to pull out, but instead hit Burris’ vehicle.

Both vehicles were towed. The deputy estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 6:09 p.m. on Monday, Steven J. Kelsey, 27, Ladoga, was northbound on U. S. 231 in a 2010 Jeep grand Cherokee.

Kelsey told Deputy Patrick he suffered a left front wheel failure, which caused him to lose control and leave the right side of the road and hit trees.
