Hanna Street closed between Locust and Indiana streets

Monday, July 22, 2019

Ongoing construction projects on and around the DePauw University campus has traffic patterns continuing to shift in the area.

The latest closure, which began Monday, is on Hanna Street.

Hanna is closed between Locust and Indiana streets for the installation of campus utility lines and storm sewer work.

The closure will continue through Aug. 15.

Another new closure will be added to the list next week when Locust Street closes south of Olive Street.

Beginning Monday, July 29 and continuing through Aug. 15, Locust will be closed between Olive and Howard for the replacement of a sanitary sewer line in the middle of the street. The starting date and work schedule will depend on weather conditions.

Users of Locust Street are urged to find alternate routes such as Bloomington and Jackson streets during the construction period for this project.

Meanwhile, College Avenue continues as a two-way traffic pattern south of Olive Street due to construction that has closed the Olive Street intersection. The two-way pattern will continue through early August.

Like the College/Olive intersection, Larrabee Street also remains closed east of Indiana Street for the installation of campus utilities.

Streets that are now open include Anderson Street between Locust and Bloomington, Locust between Seminary and Hanna and Lincoln Avenue south of Olive Street.

More broadly, community members are asked to be aware of detours, construction traffic and work zones throughout the campus area.

Construction work continues at full speed with multiple contractors on campus.
