PUTNAMVILLE — A hot and steamy weekend proved to be highly successful for a trio of drivers at Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night.

Jordan Wever, Josh Boller and Josh Litton each picked up feature victories at the Putnamville oval to go with their Friday evening wins at Paragon Speedway.

The bomber division’s mid-season championship event brought 17 competitors with Barry Hicks, Joseph Raber and Matt Raber each gaining heat race wins to set the feature lineup.

Litton would start on the pole alongside Matt Raber and put himself in prime position for the 20-lap main event.

When the field took the green flag, Litton set the pace on the top side of the oval, masterfully running the cushion to open up a solid lead. However, behind him, Jordan Almanza had advanced into the second spot after starting sixth.

Almanza closed the gap by lap 10 and began to challenge Litton for the top spot, working the bottom line. Joseph Raber and Barry Hicks were battling for the second spot as Tom Cox and Matt Raber were door-to-door in a fight for fifth.

With five circuits left, Almanza was running side-by-side with Litton, trying to gain enough momentum to make a pass for the lead. However, Litton continued to roar out of the corner on turn four to pull back ahead. Jeff Allen had powered ahead from a 12th-place starting spot and was giving Joseph Raber all he could handle for the second spot with Hicks in tow.

As the field took the white flag, Litton was able to gain a little extra traction and pulled out to a small lead over Almanza. Litton came through the final lap on his way to picking up the payday and the checkered flag as Almanza came home second. Allen took down the third spot ahead of Hicks and Tom Cox.

In the UMP Modified feature, Wever started in the fourth spot as Jeff Deckard and Jake Leitzman ran wheel-to-wheel for the lead through the opening five laps. Wever and James Walters were in a tussle for the third spot ahead of Scott Crouch and Tyler Loughmiller.

By the midway point, Deckard had pulled off the track with mechanical issues after a lap seven re-start. Leitzman would assume the top spot and opened up a small advantage ahead of Walters and Wever with Derek Groomer closing the gap. Wever had the hammer down and was able to take over the lead on lap 13 moments before Groomer made contact with Leitzman to bring out a caution. Both drivers would be forced to the back of the field with six laps remaining.

Over the final five laps, Wever was in a rocket ship to the checkered flag to complete the weekend double as Walters captured second ahead of Loughmiller, Michael Wesselman and Crouch.

For Boller, the 2019 UMP Super Stock season has been one to remember, after picking up win number 11 on the season Friday, the Greencastle native snagged number 12 on Saturday.

Boller started fourth and took the lead by lap five and did not look back. He cruised through lapped traffic as Larry Raines gave chase with Wes McClara running third ahead of Bryce Shidler and Austin Phelps.

The race was a two-man show up front as Boller held off the challenges from Raines down the stretch. Shidler would eventually take down the third spot overall ahead of David Wallen and McClara.

Thursday evening will feature the return of USAC “Indiana Sprint Week” with the UMP Super Stocks also on the card.
