Tuesday, July 30, 2019

Artists are invited to participate in the third-annual Greenlight Art Festival hosted by Putnam County Comprehensive Services Inc., located at 630 Tennessee St., Greencastle.

The outdoor event will take place Friday, Sept. 13 from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The art show and sale is open to artists who create works in 2-D and 3-D media such as ceramics, paintings, photography, drawings, glass, jewelry, digital art, metal art and woodworking. There will also be space available for Hoosier artisans specializing in handcrafted candles, soaps, signs and other wares.

Artists are required to bring their own table and tent.

The event is free to artists but they must register due to limited space.

Hands-on activities and demonstrations, food trucks, live music and a Friday night concert featuring War Radio will highlight the weekend activities.

An overnight security guard will be provided. The event will be centrally located adjacent to Robe-Ann Park and visible from Tennessee Street, Veterans Memorial Highway and U.S. 231.

The Greenlight Art Festival has been growing steadily and organizers expect a spike in attendance as they move to an outdoor street setting.

If interested, artists and artisans are asked to contact Stacie Langdon at Putnam County Comprehensive Services at 653-9763, Ext 155, or slangdonpccs@gmail.com.
