Virginia ‘Jenny’ Ruth Giles

Virginia “Jenny” Ruth Giles, 65, of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.

She was born Aug. 25, 1953 in Brazil, the daughter of William B. and Ruth Pauline (Brown) Stevenson and was a 1972 graduate of South Putnam High School.

Jenny was a homemaker and a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association Auxiliary, serving as the current secretary and former District 11B Chairman of 2018. She also served as president of the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Fighters Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jackie “Jack” C. Giles Jr.; stepchildren Timothy Vern Giles, Rusty Dale Giles and Malina Lynn Giles; three brothers, Bill R. (Becky) Stevenson, Donald (Frances) Stevenson and Roger L. (Vickie) Stevenson; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Allen Giles.

IVFAA Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, followed by funeral services at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Putnamville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon on Monday until time of service at the funeral home.
