County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 2:01 p.m. Desiree Lynn Agee, 31, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe and possession of a controlled substance.

• At 9:56 a.m. Glenn Ray Claxton, 56, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a court order.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated two recent property-damage crashes.

• At 9:09 a.m. on Thursday, Lynsey M. Herrick, 24, Fillmore, was traveling on Heritage Drive just off of County Road 725 East in a 2018 Kia Optima when she fell asleep.

The vehicle left the road and hit a speed limit sign, causing minimal damage to the front left of the vehicle.

Deputy Josh Boller estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, Steven W. Daffron, 67, New Castle, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2012 Chevrolet Impala when he hit a deer.

Deputy Kyle Lee estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently performed two medical assists and had one disregard.
