County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 1:23 p.m. Nathan Tyler Jackson, 22, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail for driving with a suspended license.

• At 12:58 p.m. Joseph A. Johnson, 54, Indianapolis, was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.

• At 12:54 p.m. MacAllister Louis Gutzweiler, 22, Brownsburg, was housed a the jail for possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

• At 12:18 p.m. Monnie Joe Carr Jr., 32, Greencastle, was booked in for theft, unlawful possession of a syringe and probation violation.

Tuesday

• At 9:39 a.m. Frederick Ellis Dunson, 46, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Morgan R. Hubble, 28, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 350 North in a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze when she hit a dog that had run into the roadway.

The dog’s owner transported it to the veterinarian for its injuries.

Reserve Deputy Ken Rozelle estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 4:35 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Greencastle High School for a gas odor investigation. Units arrived at 4:44 and investigated the school property, but found no indication of a gas leak. GFD returned to station at 5:18 a.m.

• At 8:51 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the area of 822 Indianapolis Rd. across from Kroger for a gas leak. Units arrived there at 8:56 to find that construction crews had hit a gas line. GFD secured the area and alerted Vectren of the issue. GFD returned to station at 9:56 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed four medical assists before these dispatches.
