A 2015 Cloverdale High School graduate, BAILEE STEVENS, has graduated with honors from Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky.

She majored in writing, rhetoric and communications and minored in biology.

While at T.U., Bailee was a four-year lacrosse athlete and played basketball one year. She was a lacrosse team captain, returning to play after ACL surgery last spring. She made first-team all-conference and received the Transylvania Inspiration Award and the 2019 Lexington Clinic Athlete of the Year for her efforts.

Upon graduation, Bailee accepted a position as the eastern Louisville district manager for Vector Marketing.


REBECCA MOORE, the daughter of Harriet and Kevin Moore of Greencastle, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Earlham College during commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 11.

Moore majored in human development and social relations at Earlham, receiving college and departmental honors.


JULIA MUNDY of Greencastle was among the students to earn dean’s list honors for the winter 2019 semester at Saginaw Valley State University.

To be eligible for the deans’ list, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.


KATHERINE PARSONS of Greencastle was recognized May 31 at Carleton College’s honors convocation.

Parsons received the Center for Global and Regional Studies Junior Research Fellowship.

A cherished Carleton tradition, Honors Convocation draws the campus community together to celebrate the academic accomplishments of Carleton students and faculty.


DAVID A. WILLIAMS of Greencastle was named to The University of Alabama president’s list for spring 2019.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at UA were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).


Anderson University announced its dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year.

Local residents CHASE MUNDY and KENLEE JOHNSON were among the students recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.

Mundy was a senior studying mathematics finance.

Johnson was a senior studying nursing.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade point average (g.p.a.) of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0.  


Franklin College’s 2019 commencement ceremony took place in May with a number of local students among those crossing the stage.

BRITTANY MICHELLE LOVE, daughter of Tina and Mike Love of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in creative writing.

TANNER ALLEN NICHOLSON, son of Travis and Tina Nicholson of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.

SYDNEY ROSE SECREST, daughter of Brad and Margorie Secrest of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta First-Year Honor Society.

ALEXIS TAYLOR VARVEL, daughter of David and Miranda Varvel of Greencastle, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in art studio (graphic design). She graduated cum laude. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta First-Year Honor Society.

LAURA ELIZABETH WORTHINGTON, daughter of Peter and Angela Worthington of Cloverdale, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education.


CECILIA POHLAR of Greencastle was named to the Champlain College dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester.

Students on the dean’s list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the semester.

Pohlar is majoring in computer and digital forensics.


BETH ANN HANSEN graduated from Grinnell College on May 22 as one of 336 members of the class of 2019.

Hansen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in biology.

Hansen is the child of Dr. Jeffrey A. Hansen and Mrs. Gayle R. Hansen of Greencastle.


JESSICA COPELAND of Greencastle was named to the spring 2019 dean’s list for Maryville University.

Maryville undergraduate students are eligible for the deans’ list when they complete at least 12 credit hours in a semester with a minimum of a 3.5 grade-point average.


AUTUMN R. GLAZE of Greencastle was named to the scholastic honor roll for the 2019 spring term at Oregon State University. In order to make the list, students must complete at least 12 graded hours of course work and carry a 3.5 or better grade point average.

Glaze completed her sophomore year, and is majoring in animal sciences.


North Putnam graduate TIFFANY COLLISI spent the summer as a college intern for Hoosier Heartland State Bank.

A 2017 North Putnam graduate, Collisi earned the HHSB Scholarship Award, a four-year renewable scholarship. She attends IUPUI and majors in business communication studies. She is the daughter of Steve and Leanna Collisi, Roachdale.

Tiffany is responsible for assisting the operations department with day-to-day operations. She will continue working at HHSB part-time during school, providing support to operations, marketing and the frontline.


CARLIE GREGG recently joined the Hoosier Heartland State Bank Roachdale branch as a customer service representative.

A lifelong resident of Putnam County, Gregg holds an associate’s degree in business administration and strives to constantly be learning something new. She attends Rock Point Church and enjoys shopping and being outdoors.

Customer service representatives are responsible for processing transactions, opening new accounts and assisting customers with their banking needs.


MICHELLE WOODS and LOGAN VANSICKLE were both recently promoted to the position of account specialist with Hoosier Heartland State Bank.

Woods is the account specialist at the Roachdale branch. She has been an HHSB owner for four years.

“It makes me so happy to be a part of an organization that gives back 10 percent of our annual income to the communities,” Woods said.

She lives in Putnam County with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Vansickle is the account specialist at the Ladoga branch. She has been an HHSB owner since 2018.

She lives in Roachdale, where she grew up farming and raising cattle with her family.

She is involved with both Montgomery and Putnam County communities and loves to volunteer.
