The September workshop for the Putnam-Montgomery Nonprofit Learning Series will be on Tuesday, Sept. 10 with “Building an Effective Budget,” hosted by Beth Cline.

Local nonprofits will have the chance to discover tools and practices of building an effective budget and ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization for years to come.

This interactive workshop will examine:

• Collaborative efforts needed to create an annual budget: What is the role of staff and board members?

• Benefits of prioritizing expenses year-to-year: How to accurately forecast expenses for future years.

• How to plan for unanticipated expenses: The process of being proactive versus reactive in budgeting.

The workshop will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Inn at DePauw. The fee is $20 with lunch included.

The Putnam-Montgomery Nonprofit Learning Series is sponsored by the Putnam County Community Foundation and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, with special thanks to local sponsors.
