BIS fall Jonah fish fry set Friday

BAINBRIDGE — The Bainbridge Improvement Society‘s fall Jonah fish fry is set for 4:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.

A raffle for a six-quart digital pressure cooker will be featured this year.

A fish meal of $9 includes fried fish, two sides, dessert and a drink. Fish sandwiches and hot dogs will also be available.

BIS has hosted this event twice a year for 11 years. It continues to provide food and a friendly atmosphere in the Bainbridge Community Building on U.S. 36.

BIS is a non-profit group of community members dedicated to improving the quality of life in Bainbridge. Activities include sponsoring a monthly Gleaners Mobile Food Pantry, assisting financially with the Bainbridge July fireworks as well as both the softball and baseball fields, providing rental space for vendors during the Covered Bridge Festval, sponsoring a Wednesday afteroon farmer’s market and hosting the annual free community Thanksgiving dinner.

The facility may be rented for private events. BIS has an endowment fund established with The Putnam County Community Foundation.
