Friday, September 6, 2019

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently announced that the project on I-74 in Montgomery County will close the eastbound on-ramp from U.S. 231 (Exit 34) for six days.

The closure will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for the contractor to reconstruct the pavement near the new bridge over U.S. 231. This closure would also assist Milestone Contractors with repairing the road near the on-ramp.

The ramp is scheduled to re-open late in the day on Monday, Sept. 16.

Motorists will be advised to take I-74 westbound to State Road 25 and back to I-74 eastbound.

This project will include replacing the decks on the bridges over Sugar Creek and the CSX railroad, and new bridges over U.S. 231, Little Sugar Creek and Black Creek.

ICC Group was awarded the $14.6 million project. The contractor is replacing the eastbound bridges during this construction season.

The contract completion date is scheduled for May 2020.
